TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH

Presented by Sculpture Square’s Artist-in-Residence Programme, and in collaboration for the first time with Artsource, you are invited to Xin’s second solo exhibition entitled, “To the Centre of the Earth” where Xin introduces to Singapore, her newest body of sculptures created during her overseas residency in Western Australia. Drawing inspiration from renowned French author, Jules Verne who wrote classic science fiction novels like A Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Twenty Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eighty Days, Xin showcases her interpretation of the sights and wonders of the amazing geological interiors of our Mother Earth.

Xin Xiaochang was the artist-in-residence at Artsource in Western Australia from 4 December 2011 to 15 January 2012. “To the Centre of the Earth” runs from the 13th to the 27th of April 2012, 11am to 6pm at the Upper Gallery, Sculpture Square. The exhibition closes on Sundays. Admission is free.
