Written by award-winning Singaporean playwright, Goh Boon Teck, PURPLE makes a comeback following its early triumphs with the first staging in 1995 and second in 1998. The audience is invited to be acquainted with Maggie and witness her heart-breaking odyssey of oppression and unrequited love as she struggles to fulfill her dream of becoming a woman. The rebirth of PURPLE will see a circus-themed spectacle starring Shane Mardjuki, Rebecca Spykerman, Elizabeth Loh and Matilda Chua. For the first time, PURPLE will be directed by a woman, Rayann Condy. This production is rated R18. |
